Homeless People are Human

Here is a little something I do when we travel and I have free time.  Any monies spent was a donation from Atlas :)

Maybe if you guys ever have some free time try it. I sit and talk with these men, women, small children elderly and animals... when I am done I have a better understanding of how and why the got there. You would be surprised how many families just fall hard and can no longer afford the means to even eat or have shelter. It is very rewarding. What was even more rewarding is how I’m less than an hour I hade three major chains donate and help and several police officers assist in carrying waiting and making sure I was safe. They call it “LIFE ON SKID ROW” to them it is more like “Life on death row” sad. Most never make it off the streets an most families end up separated just to make sure they are cared for..

From my social media post:

So this happened today. I had the entire day to do what ever I wanted to do. After seeing children peeking out of tents on the bridge as we strolled down to rodeo drive I began to feel really selfish. I’m in the lap of luxury, warm, dry, and my belly full. The people of the streets are cold, wet, and hungry.
My choice today without any hesitation was to make a differance... even if only to a small few. I was shocked at the outpouring of people along my journey who were willing to help! The Sheraton hotel gave me 50 blankets(new) I figured when I spoke with the manager we would get the old leftover ones... We got brand new ones.. In and out Burger manager gave me 50 bagged meals for 10$ The Walmart store manager gave me 50 waterproof bags to make goodie packs and 50 $10  gift cards for food. The hotel staff helped me package it all up and the LAPD and a few homeless men helped me hand it all out.. I am more than satisfied with my choice for today’s venture. I was respectful of the people and took only picture or video if they were willing. I wasn’t crazy about taking photos of the children but the mothers became upset and said the world needs to know that homeless people are not all bad and most of them truly are just down on their luck. Some are elderly, some are teenagers, some are women who lost their husbands late in life and lost everything else to go along with it. And yes some are drug addicts and will probably die lonely in the streets. Sorry it’s a long one but it’s important to me to share. Next time you have time to waste do good unto others and you will do good for yourself...
